A four-day football clinic in Accra has ended on a high note after 25 young Ghanaian footballers received elite training and mentorship from coaches from Manchester City.

Speaking at the Football Clinic Ghana 2026, Abdulai Sherif, Deputy Regional General Manager for QNET, described the initiative as an unforgettable experience aimed at developing young football talents and inspiring them to pursue their dreams.

According to him, the clinic brought together talented boys and girls from local football academies across Ghana, with six girls included among the selected participants.

He said the initiative was not only focused on improving football skills but also on teaching discipline, success, and personal growth.

“We had top coaches from Manchester City here for four days coaching a group of 25 young kids. It was an amazing opportunity for them to improve and learn more about their passion for football,” he said.

He added that the programme partnered with local academies, with organisers now looking at long-term ways to support grassroots football development in Ghana.

Sherif revealed that many of the academies lack adequate equipment and resources, stressing that QNET is committed to supporting them through future initiatives and assistance.

“We understand that sport is a great way for young people in Africa to succeed in life. Our ambition is that in 10 or 15 years, some of these amazing kids will become top Ghanaian players,” he added.
