Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club PLC have issued a statement admitting their 2025/26 campaign fell short of expectations, despite finishing 3rd in the Ghana Premier League.
In the statement released on 25 May 2026, the club thanked supporters for their loyalty but acknowledged their shortcomings.
“As the season concludes, we acknowledge that while the club secured a 3rd-place league finish, we ultimately fell short of our primary objectives and the standards expected of Hearts of Oak,” the statement read.
“The club also pointed to their early exit from the MTN FA Cup as a major disappointment, describing it as “one of the low points of the campaign.”
Management stressed on the need for higher standards.
“At a club of this stature, we understand that progress must always be measured against ambition, consistency, and the pursuit of trophies”statement added .
Looking ahead, the Phobians said preparations for next season are already underway with structural reviews ongoing across technical and playing departments.
“The Board and Management wish to assure supporters that preparations for the upcoming season are already underway,” the statement noted, adding that reforms are aimed at improving competitiveness and restoring the club’s identity.
On squad strengthening, the club acknowledged current transfer restrictions but expressed optimism.

“We wish to assure all that the transfer ban will be lifted soon, enabling the club to register new players for the upcoming campaign.”
Hearts of Oak also announced a renewed focus on youth development, including improved scouting and technical training systems.
“We thank our supporters for their loyalty, patience, and belief during a challenging season,” the statement concluded. “The work to restore Hearts of Oak has already begun.”
