Former Ghana international, Laryea Kingston celebrated passionately with his Uganda players after they secured a famous victory over Ghana to qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Laryea Kingston, the former Ghana U-17 coach led the Ugandans to their first ever U-17 FIFA World Cup after eliminating the Black Starlets after a penalty shoutouts victory.

The Black Stars lost their ticket to the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar after drawing 2-2 after regulation time and losing 8-7 on penalties to Ugandan.

At the final whistle, Kingston embraced his players on the pitch as Uganda sealed a historic qualification.

Uganda’s victory highlighted their rapid progress in youth football and earned them a coveted place at the upcoming U-17 World Cup, while Ghana were left to reflect on a disappointing campaign.

Laryea Kingston was spotted celebrating the victory with his players in the dressing room singing and splashing water on themselves in jubilant celebrations at the Mohammed VI Football Academy in Morocco.
