President of the Nduom Group, Dr Nana Kweku Nduom has revealed the deteriorating state of assets belonging to GN Bank following the revocation of the bank’s licence and the nearly seven-year legal battle that followed.
Speaking on Newsfile on May 23, 2026, Dr Nduom said many of the bank’s properties and operational assets have either deteriorated significantly or disappeared entirely over the years.
According to him, the condition of several GN Bank branches across the country reflects the prolonged uncertainty surrounding the institution.
“If you drive around the country, people can see the branches are still there, the signs are still there, and they can see the condition of those branches,” he said.
Dr Nduom disclosed that vehicles, generators, motorcycles, and other operational equipment owned by the bank have been left exposed to harsh weather conditions, causing severe damage.

“We have pictures and videos of vehicles, generators, motorcycles that are rusting, that have just been exposed to the elements,” he stated.
He further claimed that many assets that were once under the bank’s control are no longer available.
“Places where you would have seen a hundred or 200 cars parked, if you go there today, you'll see four or five cars. So, a lot of the assets have been disposed of,” he added.
Dr Nduom explained that the group is awaiting detailed directions from the court following the recent ruling restoring the bank’s licence.
He noted that the court acknowledged that some third parties may have acquired certain assets in good faith, making recovery difficult in some cases.
However, he said the court also indicated that assets not lawfully acquired could potentially be recovered through legal action.
Despite the ruling, Dr Nduom admitted that rebuilding the institution and recovering lost assets would be a difficult and lengthy process due to the amount of time that has passed.
“It’s going to be a long and complicated process to try and restore what was had, just because so much time has passed and so much has happened,” he said.
GN bank was one of many banks that were affected by a cleanup up of the banking sector in 2019 during the tenure of the erstwhile Akufo Addo administration.
