I don't understand this - politicians send unsolicited appeals for votes to our phones by text, just as lotto forecasters and other businesses make pitches to our phones directly even if your not on their contact list. Why can't the Met Office/NADMO also send urgent weather warnings to ALL mobile phones by text to prevent calamities? What is difficult about it?

Good comments @Therealtruth. All the stuff we casually dump in gutters ends up on our beaches and in the sea. This kills tourism - who wants to swim in polluted water ? People abroad don’t joke with their beaches. Maximum cleanliness. In Ghana, people go there to toilet.
Pollution also also kills fish, and damages the work of fishermen, because they spend many hard working hours at sea, and when they bring in their nets, they are full of plastic bottles, plastic bags, toilet bags, discarded second hand clothes and a few fish. Are we a serious country ? The answer is ‘No’.

Big underground storm drains and flooding mitigation projects (like large run off areas that a catered to as large lakes in manicured public urban parks where refuse dumping and animals are not allowed) in Ghana's major cities is what the NDC should be spending the hoarded big push projects on, if the Mahama 2 regime is interested in leaving a legacy that will be talked about for decades.

The perinnial flooding infront of Ataala between Weiha Barrier and West Hills continue to worsen despite ongoing effort to construct a storm water drain since around year 2020/2021 to date. The MRH,GHA, Hydro department, Weija/Gbawe MCE must find solution. The affected section continue to reduce traffic movements to near zero with continual deterioration of the asphaltic pavement. The highway is completely gone as water and bitumen are not compatible. If road maintenance is not taken seriously Ghana will lose majority of its road network to lack of maitenance due to non payment of basic routine maintenance activities like ditch cleaning, dedilting of drsins, pothole patching, and grading gravel roads. Small and medium maintenance contract payments are far outstanding resulting in small and medium contractors not taking any more works. Please Road Fund should expedite action to save the network. Hydro, GHA and the relevant assembly should the Weija- Kasoa N1 Highway constructed around early 2003-2004.

Can the government tell us how much has been borrowed, taken from public purse, donated from foreign governments to help solve this embarassing issue of drainage . Cecilia dapaah, told the country she spent $40million dollars of money borrowed just to collect waste that was dredged from drains etc. But couldnt pinpoint where the waste was collected from. We were told government has borrowed millions of dollars to fix the drainage system. We still witnessing life lost, properties damaged from floods. Please can the government tell us how much has been spent on fixing the drainage system since 2000. Since the government of kuffuor till present government of JDM. Our politicians know very well that accountability for work done on the countdys drainage system is beyond anyone to proof, so it has over the years become a platform and leaking pipe of free cash to politicians and government appointees. It will be worthy of JDM to investigate this and leave a legacy of accountability for the 100s of ghanaians who lost tbeir lives in floods years ago. We as a country have done nothing to honour the souls of those people. We are truly a very wicked country filled with politicians and government appointess who get voted into power and forget their promise of why they asked to be voted for. I have trist in our director general of CID Lydia Yaakor Donkor as the only hope our country has in bringing corrupt persons to their knees.
