The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) is set to delete 318 companies from Ghana’s Companies Register in a fresh push to enforce compliance and clean up business records.
According to a citinewsroom.com report on May 22, 2026, the ORC said the action is being taken under Section 289(3) of the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992), in a statement dated May 19, 2026.
NPP to petition Chief Justice to remove judge in Abronye case
The Registrar stated that the affected entities were listed in Volume 40 of the ORC Companies Bulletin published on May 15, 2026, and will be removed within three months unless they show sufficient cause against the action.
“Once the process is completed, the companies involved will be dissolved,” the ORC noted.
The office described the exercise "as part of ongoing regulatory and compliance enforcement aimed at ensuring the accuracy, credibility, and dependability of Ghana’s Companies Register."
It added that "the move reinforces its commitment to strengthening compliance with the country’s corporate framework and promoting higher standards of governance and transparency."
The development serves as a warning to firms that fail to meet statutory filing and regulatory obligations as authorities intensify efforts to sanitise the corporate sector.
