Dubai Chambers has held a series of high-level meetings with key trade and economic institutions in Ghana as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral trade, investment cooperation, and private-sector partnerships between Dubai and Ghana.

The engagements, which took place in Accra, involved discussions with the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI), the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), and the Importers and Exporters Association of Ghana.

The meetings were attended by Salem AlShamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, and formed part of a broader trade mission to Ghana and Ethiopia aimed at identifying new economic opportunities and supporting the expansion of Dubai-based companies into African markets.

During discussions with the GNCCI, led by its President Stéphane Miezan, both sides explored ways to strengthen cooperation between businesses in Ghana and Dubai, facilitate bilateral trade, and expand investment opportunities across priority sectors.

According to the discussions, both parties focused on “building sustainable economic partnerships capable of supporting stronger trade flows between both markets.”

Dubai Chambers also met with GIPC, represented by its Chief Executive Officer Simon Madjie, to explore investment opportunities across key sectors of the economy.

The engagement highlighted investment advantages available to businesses and investors in both Ghana and Dubai, while also addressing ways to increase investment flows and deepen private-sector participation between the two markets.

A separate meeting with the Importers and Exporters Association of Ghana, represented by its Executive Secretary Asaki Awingobit, focused on strengthening business cooperation and improving direct communication between companies in both markets.

The discussions also explored “new opportunities for trade and investment partnerships” between Ghanaian and Dubai-based businesses.

The engagements reflect Dubai Chambers’ growing interest in Ghana as a strategic gateway to West Africa’s trade and investment market, as Dubai continues to position itself as a global hub for business expansion into emerging economies.

For Ghana, the meetings are expected to open new opportunities for investment promotion, export market access, logistics partnerships, and business-to-business collaboration with companies based in Dubai.

Dubai Chambers said it remains committed to “empowering businesses, delivering value-added services and unlocking access to influential networks” as part of efforts to strengthen Dubai’s position as a global business hub.

The latest engagements also form part of Dubai Chamber of Commerce’s broader international expansion agenda aimed at deepening commercial ties with African markets.
