Ghanaian football legend Asamoah Gyan has pledged his commitment to the development of grassroots football after officially being unveiled as the brand ambassador for Ghana’s national teams and colt football.

Speaking after the appointment ceremony, the former Black Stars captain described the role as a personal honour and a responsibility he is ready to embrace with full dedication.

“Everything comes with time and patience. I’ve been patient and there were a lot of things behind the scenes that we sorted out and everything has come to light today,” Gyan said.

The all-time leading scorer of the Black Stars thanked the leadership of the Ghana Football Association, the Sports Ministry and President John Dramani Mahama for the appointment.

“This ambassadorial role is fair to me and I would like to thank the President of the GFA, the Minister for Youth and Sports, and the President of Ghana for this appointment,” he added.

He stressed that football remains his greatest passion and insisted he is determined to help take the sport to another level in Ghana.

“Football is my passion. I eat football, I drink football, I sleep football and we are here to develop grassroots football because when it comes to me, I support grassroots football and the national teams as well” he added.

He also assured Ghanaians that he is ready to use his experience to support the country’s football growth.

“In the football fraternity, we are here to support and make sure we achieve a lot of great things,” he stated.

Asamoah Gyan promised to work tirelessly in his new role.

“As an ambassador to serve the national teams and colt football, I’m here to serve and I will do everything possible to take football to the next level”he stated.
