A distressing incident occurred during heavy rains in Accra when passengers aboard a Tabora–Kaneshie trotro were left soaked after rainwater leaked through the roof of the vehicle throughout the journey.

In a video sighted by GhanaWeb on X, the trotro, which appeared old and poorly maintained, was seen heavily leaking through the roof of the vehicle.

The driver, who appeared overwhelmed by the situation, was seen fully drenched in the rainwater together with passengers, who could also be heard complaining bitterly during the journey.

Despite the poor condition of the vehicle and the discomfort caused by the leaking roof, the video showed the trotro still parked by the roadside as passengers struggled to find dry spots inside the vehicle to avoid being soaked by the rainwater.

One of the passengers, who is believed to have recorded the video and appeared visibly frustrated, turned the camera on the driver and questioned why he was transporting passengers in such a poorly maintained vehicle.

“Driver, let me ask you this question? Does the car belong to you or someone else? Just look at yourself and how you are heavily drenched by the rainwater. People commuting on motorcycles are far better than those of us in this vehicle,” he fumed.

However, the driver only smiled and avoided commenting on the situation.
