Tension has gripped the Wassa Amenfi Traditional Council after the Abusuapanin of Wassa Moseaso and some royals were allegedly assaulted by chiefs during a meeting at the Omanhene’s palace.

The incident happened during a gathering of traditional leaders and royal family members, adomonline.com reported on May 16, 2026.

"A misunderstanding turned chaotic and escalated into a physical confrontation, causing confusion on the palace premises," according to the report.

Abusuapanin of Wassa Moseaso, Kwabena Fosu and other royals were allegedly assaulted in the clash, shocking residents and raising concerns over rising tensions within the traditional setup.

Some affected royals and opinion leaders have expressed pain over the incident and are calling for “justice and peace” to be restored.

Community members are now appealing to authorities and traditional elders to investigate thoroughly and ensure lasting peace among all factions involved.
