The founder of Glorious Wave Church International, Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi, has addressed rumours circulating on social media claiming that he intends to sell his church building to settle massive debts.

In an interview with Nana Romeo on OKAY FM, shared on TikTok and sighted by GhanaWeb on May 15, 2026, Prophet Badu Kobi stated that although some aspects of the rumours are true, he is not selling the property because of debt.

He explained that his decision to relocate from Sakumono Estate was based on divine guidance.

According to him, God instructed him to move to a different location and start afresh, although the decision to sell the church building or keep it ultimately rests with him.

“I haven’t personally come out to say I am selling my church. However, it is God who asked me to relocate to another place. I even told God that I wanted to use the church as another branch, but He told me to completely let go of the building. I am someone who can survive whether I have money or not. So how can it be that I want to depend on church money for my survival?

"I have a son called Bright and I don’t want to curse him or anything. During the election period, I was moving from one constituency to another and he saw me doing everything. Recently, he came to my place and overheard me talking about business on the phone and that was how he assumed I was in debt and wanted to sell the church,” he said.

Prophet Badu Kobi further debunked rumours suggesting that he plans to sell the property to clear debts.

According to him, he has also heard several rumours questioning his spiritual authenticity, but he has deliberately ignored such claims.

“But I want to state without equivocation that there is no way I will sell my property to clear debt. I decide to sell the building or leave it because it is between God and me. But he instructed me to clear everything and move to a different place.

“He later came to apologise after making those public comments, but because I like him, I cannot curse him. The church members are aware of the decision because we have announced it several times. However, I will not disclose the new location of my church until I am ready,” he added.
