Emmanuel Asamoah, the young Ghanaian who recently returned from South Africa after surviving xenophobic attacks, has completed the process to establish his own cement distribution and hardware business.

The business venture was made possible through the support of businessman Ibrahim Mahama, who stepped in to help Emmanuel rebuild his life after returning to Ghana.

This was disclosed by the aide to Ibrahim Mahama, Rafik Mahama in a Facebook post on May 14, 2026.

The latest development comes weeks after Ibrahim Mahama pledged support for Ghanaians affected by xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

During a meeting at his office, which was attended by Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, he encouraged Ghanaians living abroad to consider returning home to contribute to national development.

He also assured returnees that his company was ready to offer employment opportunities based on their skills and experience.

In addition to setting up the business, Ibrahim Mahama presented Emmanuel Asamoah with GH¢200,000 to enable him to spend time with his family before relocating to Accra to begin operations.

Emmanuel reportedly chose the hardware business after leaving behind his nail and hairdressing business in South Africa due to the attacks.

Ibrahim Mahama also urged him to remain focused and disciplined as he starts a new chapter in his life.

He further commended Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa for supporting the welfare of Ghanaians living in the country.
