The Ghanaian quartet of Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, Joseph Paul Amoah, Edwin Gadayi and Ibrahim Fuseini produced a strong display to win Heat 2 in a time of 38.69 seconds.

For Saminu, the relay now presents an opportunity for redemption after the disappointment of the men’s 100m final, where both he and Amoah narrowly missed out on medals.
The Ghanaian sprinter admitted after the race that the team is determined to bounce back strongly in the relay event and challenge for gold on home soil.
Ghana’s qualification has also set up another mouthwatering showdown with rivals Nigeria, who also won their heat to advance to the final.
The clash carries extra significance after Nigeria defeated Ghana in the same event during the 2023 African Games in Accra.
