Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Kwame Ohene Frimpong extended a kind gesture to women in his constituency on Mothers Day.
He sent words of encouragement to women while announcing plans to distribute African print fabrics to mothers in his constituency as part of the celebration.
In a video shared on X on May 12, 2026, Frimpong was captured saying that Mothers Day is a special occasion dedicated to honouring mothers, grandmothers, aunties and all women.
“Happy, Happy Mother’s Day. Today is the day we celebrate our mothers. Today is a very special day. We celebrate our mothers, we celebrate our grandmothers, we celebrate our aunties and all women across the globe,” he said.

Frimpong was seen in the video displaying newly purchased African print fabrics, which he said would be distributed to mothers in his constituency.
Mother’s Day is celebrated annually to recognise the sacrifices and contributions of mothers and maternal figures to society.
Meanwhile, news broke on May 12, 2026, that he has been detained by authorities in the Netherlands in connection with an investigation linked to the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for alleged financial crimes, including money laundering and suspected "romance scams" involving an estimated US$32 million.
