Arsenal’s 1-0 win over West Ham United in the Premier League on May 10, 2026, was marked by a controversial incident involving foul play during a corner kick.

In a keenly contested game, Leandro Trossard gave the Gunners the lead in the 83rd minute, boosting their title challenge and keeping them on track.

However, in the dying moments of the match, West Ham won a corner kick. The ball came off Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya’s hand and fell to Callum Wilson, who fired it into the net.

Immediately, Arsenal players rushed to referee Chris Kavanagh, insisting that Raya had been fouled. The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) reviewed the incident but could not reach a conclusion, prompting the center referee to check the monitor himself.

After an extensive review, the referee ruled out the goal, citing a foul by Pablo Fornals on Raya, whose arm was obstructed while attempting to save the ball.

This decision secured a monumental victory for Arsenal, as they maintained their two-point lead over Manchester City in the Premier League title race.

Meanwhile, West Ham remain in 18th place with 36 points, fighting for survival at the bottom of the table.

The result has given Arsenal the chance to win their first Premier League title in 22 years.
