The Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (Mahama Cares), Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, has made her first appearance at the Government Accountability Series.

Her participation in the high-level forum marks an important opportunity to brief the public on the progress made in implementing the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, a flagship initiative aimed at supporting patients with chronic and life-threatening medical conditions.

During her presentation, she is expected to provide updates on the operational structure of the fund, including how beneficiaries are being identified, the range of medical conditions covered, and the mechanisms being put in place to ensure transparency and accountability in the disbursement of financial support.

Darko-Opoku will also outline key developments within the health sector, particularly efforts to improve access to specialist treatment, strengthen healthcare financing, and reduce the financial burden on families facing costly medical care.

The Government Accountability Series serves as a platform for heads of public institutions and government agencies to report on their activities, explain policy initiatives, and respond to questions from the media and the general public.
