Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has extended warm Mother’s Day greetings to mothers across Ghana and around the world, praising their indispensable role in holding families, communities, and economies together.
In a statement posted on her Facebook page on Sunday, May 10, 2026, the Vice President highlighted the strength, sacrifice, wisdom, and unconditional love of mothers, describing them as pillars of resilience and dedication.
“Mothers hold families, communities, and, in many cases, entire economies together. Their resilience and dedication continue to inspire,” she said.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the lives of women and mothers through targeted policies and programmes aimed at promoting empowerment, dignity, and economic opportunity.

She pointed to flagship initiatives under the current administration, including 24-hour markets and the Women’s Development Bank, which are designed to create a more inclusive economy that supports women entrepreneurs and traders.
Additional interventions she mentioned include expanded skills training and apprenticeship programmes, improved access to finance, and the nationwide distribution of free sanitary pads to schoolgirls to support their education and health.
“On this special day, I acknowledge every mother, grandmother, guardian, and woman who plays a maternal role in the lives of others. Your love and service do not go unnoticed,” the Vice President stated.
“May God richly bless and strengthen you always. Happy Mother’s Day,” she concluded.
