The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has announced a temporary partial road closure at Terminal 2 of the Accra International Airport (AIA) as part of ongoing construction works at the facility.
In a public notice issued by management on May 9, 2026, GACL stated that a section of the road in front of the departure hall will be temporarily closed effective Monday, May 11, 2026.
According to the company, the closure is necessary to facilitate the safe execution of refitting works on the frontage and façade of Terminal 2 and is expected to remain in place for one month.

The statement noted that during this period, the affected section of the road will be inaccessible to both vehicles and pedestrians.
GACL assured travellers and motorists that measures have been put in place to minimise inconvenience and ensure the smooth flow of traffic around the terminal.
“To minimise disruption, directional signage and traffic management personnel will be on site to guide commuters and ensure smooth movement,” the notice said.
Management also apologised to the travelling public for any inconvenience the temporary closure may cause.
“GACL regrets any inconvenience and appreciates the cooperation of the travelling public as we carry out these works,” the statement added.
