Ghanaian musician Black Sherif has won the ultimate award at the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

The artiste beat competition from Medikal, Stonebwoy, Wendy Shay, Sarkodie, and Diana Hamilton to secure the prestigious Artiste of the Year award.

Black Sherif earned the recognition following a remarkable year in which he made a significant impact on the Ghanaian music scene with his widely acclaimed album, Iron Boy.

During the awards night, the musician swept several major awards, including "Album of the Year", "Songwriter of the Year", "Hip-Hop Song of the Year", and "Best Afropop Song".

Meanwhile, this is not the first time Black Sherif has been crowned Artiste of the Year at the TGMAs.

At the 2023 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, his victory was widely celebrated as a reflection of his massive influence on the music industry, driven largely by hit songs such as Kwaku the Traveller and his debut album, The Villain I Never Was.

The 27th edition of the TGMAs featured more than 25 award categories, celebrating excellence across gospel, highlife, hiplife, afrobeat, reggae/dancehall, and other music genres.

Several artistes also enjoyed memorable nights, with Black Sherif, AratheJay, Kofi Kinaata, Moliy, and others picking up awards in their respective categories.

Beyond the awards presentations, the night was packed with live performances that kept patrons entertained throughout the event.

Performances from Medikal, Samini, Black Sherif, Chief One, and music duo R2Bees drew loud reactions from the audience.
