A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Team, Kwesi Botchwey Jnr, has blasted the National Democratic Congress’s ( NDC) Sofo Rashid Tanko over comments made in connection with the rearrest of former National Food and Buffer Stock Company (NAFCo) CEO Hanan and his wife, Faiza Wuni.
He accused the Deputy Director for IT and Elections of the NDC of accusing him of spreading falsehoods and making reckless political claims.
Speaking on a panel discussion on Accra‑based JoyNews on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, lawyer Kwesi Botchwey Jnr criticised NDC’s Rashid Tanko for describing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a party that has scammed Ghanaians.
According to Botchwey, such remarks were reckless and misleading, insisting they would not go unanswered.

He therefore warned that the NPP would hold him accountable when it returns to power.
“Tanko looks like he has a reckless disregard for the truth. You corrected him when he said that the NPP got 38% in the last election. He shouldn’t do that. Tanko, you are one of the people the next NPP government will come after,” Botchwey said.
He also rejected Tanko’s repeated claims that the NPP had scammed Ghanaians, stressing that such remarks would not be tolerated.
“Tanko repeatedly says NPP has scammed Ghanaians. I want to let him know that we will not take that remark from you. Because if you live in a glass house, you don’t throw stones,” he added.
