Telefonika has deepened its presence in Ghana’s electronics retail market with the opening of a new branch in Cantonments, Accra.

The Branch General Manager of Ghana Telefonika, Mohammed Alsafadi, reaffirmed the company’s strong market position following the launch on Thursday, April 30, 2026.

Speaking at the grand opening, he emphasised the brand’s long-standing reputation and recognition among Ghanaian consumers.

“Our brand here, anyone in Ghana knows Telefonika. It has been operating for more than 20 years in Ghana, so it's a big name in Ghana,” he said.

He noted that one of the company’s key selling points is its commitment to after-sales service, particularly through warranty offerings across its products.

“The warranty is the big thing we are doing here, so any customer, if he's buying anything and has an issue with a phone, accessories, speakers, or whatever, we are giving him warranty, so if he gets any problem, we'll solve it for him,” he stated.

Alsafadi stressed that the company prioritises customer satisfaction beyond the point of sale, ensuring continuous engagement with clients.

“It’s not something like we’ll sell and we’ll not do follow-up with any customer,” he added.

He disclosed that although the official launch was held recently, operations had already commenced weeks earlier.

“This area today is our grand opening, so I think like two weeks ago we started,” he noted.

He also explained that the business operates through established supplier networks, with products sourced from both international and local suppliers.

“You know electronics, usually there’s no Ghana-made. As any business, we have our suppliers and they are giving us our goods and we sell them,” he said.

He further noted the company’s extensive footprint across the country, with multiple branches serving customers in key cities.

“It’s over 20 branches. We have in Kumasi, Takoradi, Accra, Tema,” he added.

The Cantonments branch forms part of Telefonika's broader expansion strategy to strengthen its nationwide presence and improve access to electronics and after-sales services for customers.
