Dutch-born goalkeeper, Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro has been ranked as the fourth-best young shot-stopper in world football by the CIES Football Observatory, underlining his rapid rise at club level with AZ Alkmaar.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed an outstanding campaign in the Netherlands, registering 13 clean sheets this season and emerging as one of Europe’s most promising goalkeeping talents.
His performances have not only drawn attention domestically but have now earned global recognition through CIES’ latest rankings.
Owusu-Oduro’s consistency between the posts has been a key factor in AZ Alkmaar’s defensive solidity, with the young goalkeeper showcasing sharp reflexes, composure, and maturity well beyond his years.
His ability to command the box and play out from the back has also made him a modern fit for top-level football.
Born in the Netherlands to Ghanaian parents, Owusu-Oduro remains eligible to represent Ghana national football team, a development that could excite fans and selectors alike as the Black Stars continue to reshape their squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
