A Ghanaian family is calling on authorities to investigate the death of their relative, who passed away in South Africa just four days after his arrival in the country.
According to a report by AsaaseRadio.com, the deceased, identified as Israel, left Ghana on March 25, 2026, but died shortly after reaching South Africa.
Israel, a young graduate of Accra Technical University, reportedly travelled on what the family described as a “supporters’ trip.”
A family member disclosed this information during an interview on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
His body has since been repatriated to Ghana and is currently at LEKMA Hospital, where it remains pending further investigations.
The family is seeking clarity on the circumstances surrounding his death and has called for government intervention.

“We want justice. The government should come in and make things right,” a family member is quoted to have said during the interview on Asaase Radio.
The case is currently being handled by the Homicide Unit of the Ghana Police Service.
Authorities have urged the public and the family to remain calm as investigations continue.
An organiser linked to the trip, Peter Amati of the Millennium Supporters Union of Ghana, declined to provide further details, citing the ongoing investigation.
“The case is with the police. When investigations are finalised, we will come out to speak,” he said.
The family indicated that steps are being taken to conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death, although results are not yet available.
