The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has dismissed media reports suggesting that newly appointed Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz earns as much as $100,000 per month.

He insisted that the figures being circulated are inaccurate, adding that the Portuguese tactician’s actual monthly salary is lower than what has been widely reported.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, the Buem MP clarified that full details of Queiroz’s remuneration will be made public ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“Carlos Queiroz is being paid less than $100,000; his salary is not up to the $100,000 being quoted out there. The actual salary and details will be revealed later, before the World Cup. He was signed on a four-month contract,” he said.

Queiroz, who replaced Otto Addo on a short-term deal following Ghana’s recent struggles, was officially unveiled in Accra last week. He has since travelled to Europe on a scouting assignment as he begins preparations for the tournament.

Ghana, set for their fifth World Cup appearance, have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.
