Claims RNAQ made on Delay Show are false - Joana Quaye's lawyers

The legal team representing Joana Quaye, estranged wife of entrepreneur Richard Nii Armah Quaye, has described allegations made by the Bills Microcredit CEO in a recent television interview as substantially untrue.

They stated that granting the interview while appellate proceedings are active amounts to an attempt to undermine the administration of justice.

In a press release dated April 27, 2026, the firm Messrs Dame & Partners, led by former Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame, said the interview granted by RNAQ to broadcaster Deloris Frimpong Manso, known as Delay, on her widely watched Delay Show, contained claims that unfairly attacked the reputation and integrity of their client.

“Whilst denying all the allegations made by Richard Nii Armah Quaye as untrue, we state that the matters he sought to address are already a matter of public record, documented in court proceedings, and cannot be changed by a self-serving ex post facto interview with ‘Delay’,” the statement read.

The lawyers accused RNAQ of deliberately timing the interview to coincide with active proceedings before the Court of Appeal, describing it as a calculated move to sway public opinion against Joana Quaye.

“We consider this as an effort to unfairly prejudice the minds of the public against our client and undermine and impede a fair administration of justice in the case.”

“Mr Quaye’s illicit motive to obstruct the course of justice with the publication of prejudicial statements in the media is all too glaring,” the statement added.

'I am ready to settle my ex-wife' – RNAQ admits

Dame & Partners noted that the appeal had been formally served on RNAQ approximately two weeks before the interview was granted, making the timing of the public statements particularly concerning.

The statement also rejected claims relating to the origins of RNAQ’s business empire, insisting that the couple jointly founded Quick Credit & Investment Micro-Credit Company Limited in 2011 after their marriage, and that Joana Quaye’s shares in the company were later transferred without her knowledge.

On behalf of their client, the lawyers said Joana Quaye would not be drawn into a public back-and-forth, choosing instead to allow the courts to determine the matter.

“Our client will continue to maintain her silence and place her faith in the justice system of Ghana in the hope that she will get justice for the wrongs and abuse inflicted on her by Richard Nii Armah Quaye, as well as an equitable distribution of all the properties acquired during the marriage,” the statement concluded.
