Legal counsel for the Member of Parliament for Assin South, Rev John Ntim Fordjour, has issued a seven-day ultimatum to social media personality Angel Maxine to retract and apologise for alleged defamatory claims made against him.

Lawyer for the MP, Kwesi Botchway Jnr, said the allegations circulated on TikTok, Instagram, and X, which suggested that the MP is gay and had sexual relations with the said personality, are completely false.

The letter dated Monday, April 27, 2026, and signed by Botchway stated, “We make reference to your vile and defamatory material of and concerning our client which you published, and/or caused to be disseminated multiple times worldwide through the deliberate use of widely accessible digital platforms, including Instagram, TikTok and Twitter (X), falsely asserting as fact that our client is gay and has had sexual intercourse with you.”

“These statements are categorically denied, are entirely without factual foundation and were made recklessly, maliciously, and with a complete disregard for the truth,” it added.

The lawyer stated that their client does not know Angel Maxine and has never had any interaction with the individual.

They further described the claims as an "improvisation" of the personality's imagination.

"Our Client has boldly stated that, you are a complete stranger to him. He has at no material time met, seen, communicated with, associated with or engaged in sexual intercourse or any form of sexual contact with you. Your assertion is an improvisation of your wild imagination, and that he has never been involved in the dirty act of intimacy with a fellow man or any indecent sexual activity," the letter stated.

The demand letter indicated that the viral posts have caused massive damage to the MP’s personal and professional reputation, exposing him to public ridicule.

"Your vile and unguided statements culminated with the flagrant abuse of digital publishing platforms have exposed our client to public ridicule, contempt, and opprobrium, and have caused substantial and ongoing damage to our client’s personal and professional standing,” it added.

The lawyers have therefore instructed Angel Maxine to immediately stop making further defamatory comments and render an unqualified apology to the lawmaker.

"We have the full instructions of our Client to demand you immediately and permanently cease and desist from making any further defamatory statements about our Client,” it demanded.

The MP’s counsel warned that they will head to court to seek legal redress if the social media personality fails to comply with the demands within one week.

"Take notice and notice is hereby given that if you fail, refuse and/or neglect to comply with the terms of this letter, seven (7) clear days from 27th April, 2026, our Client shall seek legal redress without further recourse to you,” it stated.
