Black Stars Head Coach, Carlos Queiroz, is expected to take up temporary hotel accommodation as questions emerge over the status of the official residence designated for the national team’s head coach.

Queiroz, who was unveiled to the public on Thursday, April 23, 2026, and has been tasked with leading Ghana’s push toward the next World Cup, following the dismissal of Otto Addo, is yet to move into what was previously earmarked as the coach’s official residence in the Airport Residential Area.

But reports suggest the facility is no longer habitable, having been converted into office space by the Ghana Football Association (GFA), leaving the veteran Portuguese coach with no immediate official home.

Speaking to Citi Sports, Coach Christopher Nimley further fuelled the growing speculation around the situation, casting doubts on the suitability of the arrangement.

“When Carlos Queiroz was coaching in Egypt and South Africa, he was not staying in a hotel. Go to all the places he’s coached, nobody kept him in a hotel,” Nimley said.

He went further to question the condition of the designated property.

“Go and see how dirty the office space is. I went there and took pictures myself. Go and look at the windows,” he added.

Queiroz’s first assignment will be a game against Mexico in May 2026, as he gears up for preparations ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
