The 27th anniversary celebration of the reign of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II was marked by a display of rich culture and luxury, with the unveiling of a symbolic gold clock artwork as the highlight.

The event was held at the Jubilee Hall of the Manhyia Palace and formed part of activities marking the Asantehene’s 27 years on the throne.

The artwork made of gold, described as symbolic, was neatly and beautifully crafted on wood with a kente fabric design as the background, featuring a carefully carved world map.

It also displays clocks and time zones of four cities across the globe, including Accra, Dubai, and London.

In a video shared by The1957News on April 24, 2026, it said the gold artwork was auctioned for GH¢1.5 million during the anniversary celebration.

Additionally, the piece was designed with 27 ounces of gold under the theme “27 ounces for 27 years,” marking each year of the Asantehene’s reign.

The video from the event also captured Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who was seen visibly excited as the artwork was unveiled.

Dignitaries present gathered around to take photos and capture the moment.

The Asantehene’s event was attended by high-profile dignitaries from both Ghana and abroad.
