Deputy Minister launches vocational model literacy class

Twifo Praso (C/R), Feb. 14, GNA - The Deputy Minister of Education, Mrs= .. Elizabeth Amoa-Tetteh, has appealed to the youth to avail themselves of educational facilities being offered them by the government. Mrs. Amoah-Tetteh, who is also the Member of Parliament for Twifo Ati Morkwa, was launching the Twifo Praso Non-Formal Education Division (NFED) vocational model literacy class at Twifo Praso on Saturday. She appealed to the youth, especially women in the district, to take advantage of the programme to acquire knowledge and skills that would enabl= e them to engage in viable income generation activities. Mr. Joseph Foster Andoh, the District Chief Executive, expressed the hope that with commitment and hard work they could be self employed after completing the programme. Mr Francis Hamenu, the District coordinator, said the Division needed sponsorship for NFED and appealed to all stake holders including NGOs, the MP, the district assembly and philanthropists to support the programme, adding that about 30 adults have enrolled as learners.
