A section of a four-bedroom apartment at Tantra Hill has been destroyed following a domestic fire that was swiftly contained by firefighters from the Amasaman Fire Station.
The Ghana National Fire Service, in a Facebook update on April 12, 2026, said the incident occurred near the Goil Filling Station, where emergency crews responded to a distress call.
Upon arrival, firefighters were met with flames already engulfing part of the building, with thick smoke billowing into the air.
“The fire was brought under control and completely extinguished few minutes later. One bedroom and its contents were totally destroyed, but the remaining rooms and nearby buildings were successfully saved,” the statement said.
Fire guts structures at Tantra Hill
The intensity of the fire raised concerns among residents that it could spread to adjoining rooms and nearby structures.
The blaze completely gutted one bedroom, destroying furniture, personal belongings, and other household items.
The affected area was left in ruins, with only charred remains and structural damage visible.
However, the timely intervention of the fire service prevented further destruction, as crews managed to confine the fire to the initial point of outbreak and protect the rest of the apartment and surrounding properties.
No casualties were recorded, while the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
