Former Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder, Frederick Ansah Botchway has opened up on his journey in the game, describing his progress so far as fulfilling, yet far from complete.
Speaking in an interview with GhanaWeb, the player admitted that while he feels proud of how far he has come, there remains a strong desire to achieve more at the highest level.
“Happy, but not satisfied. Because I still have a long way to go,” Frederick Ansah Botchway.
The player pointed to key moments in his career where decisions rather than effort may have slowed his progress.
“Some of us, we’ve not been lucky , but in terms of decision-making, some decisions have slowed us down not because we are not putting in the hard work,” he explained.
Frederick Ansah Botchway used his experience as a lesson for aspiring footballers, urging young talents to be mindful of the choices they make early in their careers.
“What you decide now determines your future somehow,” he advised.
Despite featuring in countries such as Ethiopia and Zimbabwe, the player acknowledged that he is yet to reach his ultimate goal of competing consistently at the top level as an international professional.
“Looking at myself, I’ve not been to some other places, like playing professional football at that level seeing myself as an international player,” he added.
