Mark my words, if we ignore this man, we will be weeping and gnashing our teeth years from now. A staff has this Voxy vehicle at my workplace and just one look at it and I know I won't sit in it from Accra to anywhere if it was driven by our illiterate commercial drivers.
Just look at how they even drive Sprinter buses around and you would understand

In the United Kingdom, steering wheels are on the right. Vehicles use the left lane facing oncoming traffic. In Ghana and most other countries in the world, we have the left side steering wheel and right side lane. The big question is, are vehicles from France, Germany and Sweden banned from UK roads? Think of the thousands of business, holiday travellers and delivery trucks.
AMALIBA should quickly seek audience with President Mahama, the Speaker of Parliament, CEPS Boss, DVLA Boss and all other relevant stakeholders. He should put forward the idea of raking in millions in income by proposing the establishment of a National Center for this right to left switch and other necessary modifications, properly supervised and structured. How much money to get it going ? Let’s say $20m. Can we raise it? YES, easily. Excuse me, but the black man must be a Joe Monkey not to recognise the potential. We can make money and create jobs for the youth. Suddenly, vehicles would be arriving via Tema with Nigeria, Togo, Burkina, Ivory Coast, etc as final destinations. The Japanese themselves would freak out.

We always think of money first without considering the other repercussions, they’re not banning the vehicle from usage completely but rather the long distance travels. In any case ask yourself, was it designed for long distance hauls, besides our roads are not that suitable for such with these types of vehicle, so please let be civil and look at it from that angle. You made comparisons to the UK and others, do you find such vehicles being used for commercial long distance hauls?

The issue is not about using the vehicles changed from its original manufacturing form of right hand drive to left hand drive to suit the driving system of the the country it's imported to. That alone is dangerous and can render the vehicle less effective than in its original manufactured way.

This Anabila guy must shut up and work to make our roads truly safer... Instead of engaging these theatrics! He must get road speed cameras installed to enforce overspending on our roads... Where offending drivers get instant tickets, court summons if they drive over a certain speed limit.... Get our roads fixed, get sensible traffic lights installed, street lights installed, ground traffic light regulation sensors for safer night time driving, demolish illegal speed ramps, fill pot holes.

I think this man Amaliba is ranting unnecessarily more than providing a head way of solutions to a problem. To begin with; a nation as Ghana in the age of industrialization and calling for more cars to be manufactured or assembled here in Ghana and yet one is calling for the banishment of just a right hand conversion of cars(such a small task in the car assembly process). Is he aware the chassis of most cars are made universal(especially Europe and Asia) to accept right or left hand drive in the final assembling choice, He should rather be calling for standard certification and permits to control wack jobs but not to insult his own intelligence and Ghana at large.

As for this one I don’t agree with you boss. Proper changing from right hand to left hand shouldn’t bring us any problems. What your office must insist is not to make any right hand car road worthy unless changed to left hand at designated garages you can supervise. So you either import the car already changed abroad or done locally at specific centers.
