Ghana’s U-17 national team, the Black Starlets, have been handed a challenging group in the upcoming U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, after being drawn in Group D alongside Senegal, South Africa, and Algeria.

The tournament, scheduled to take place in Morocco from May 13 to June 2, 2026, will see Africa’s brightest young talents compete for continental glory and qualification to the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

The Black Starlets, one of Africa’s most successful youth sides, will be aiming to make a strong statement as they come up against reigning powerhouses Senegal, a technically gifted South African side, and a resilient Algerian team.

Ghana’s inclusion in such a competitive group sets the stage for thrilling encounters, with each nation expected to battle fiercely for a place in the knockout stages.

The Starlets will be counting on their rich history in youth football to navigate what many are already describing as a “group of death.”

With preparations expected to intensify in the coming weeks, attention will turn to the technical team as they fine-tune the squad ahead of the tournament.
