Four suspects have been arrested in connection with a narcotics-related operation in the Ashanti North Region, the Ghana Police Service has confirmed, according to 3news.com.

According to a police statement, two of the suspects, namely Albert Nkrumah and Francis Owusu, were later identified through an identification parade by a patrol team as part of a group that fled the scene of the incident on March 25.

The statement added that the suspects identified as Albert Nkrumah, 21; Francis Owusu, 25; Gyimah Emmanuel, 24; and Theophilus Amoabeng, were arrested on March 26, 2026, following an intelligence-led exercise by the police.

Following investigations, police secured a court order from the Offinso Circuit Court, presided over by Her Honour Christiana Bruce Ashirifie, directing the National Identification Authority, Electoral Commission, and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority to provide relevant data to assist inquiries.

On March 30, Albert Nkrumah and Francis Owusu were arraigned before the court and remanded into police custody.

They are expected to reappear on April 27, 2026.

Police, in the statement, further disclosed that additional suspects have already been identified as part of efforts to dismantle the network behind the operation.

The seized substances are expected to be sent to the Forensic Laboratory at the CID Headquarters in Accra for analysis.

Meanwhile, the Ashanti North Regional Police Command reiterated its commitment to tackling drug-related crimes and ensuring public safety, while urging the public to volunteer credible information to support law enforcement efforts.
