Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has arrived in Accra for a three-day state visit from April 1 to April 3, 2026.
A statement dated March 31, 2026, and signed by the Minister of State in Charge of Government Communication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, indicated that the visit is geared at deepening bilateral relations between Ghana and Zimbabwe.
In line with this arrangement, President Mnangagwa was received at the Accra International Airport by President John Dramani Mahama with full military honours, including a guard of honour mounted by the Ghana Armed Forces on April 1, 2026.
During his stay, the two leaders are expected to hold high-level talks at the Peduase Lodge on how to collaborate on bolstering trade, agriculture, health, tourism, and governance.
Agreements in the areas of investment promotion, youth employment, and anti-corruption initiatives are highly anticipated during this high-profile meeting.
President Mahama will also host a state banquet in honour of his Zimbabwean counterpart, underscoring the historic ties between the two nations that date back to their liberation struggles.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to depart Ghana on Friday, April 3, 2026.
