Boatemaa Barfour-Awuah, CEO of Star Assurance and President of the Ghana Insurers Association (GIA), has been sworn in as the newest member of the Board of Trustees of GETFund.

Barfour-Awuah was inducted on March 27, 2026, by Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, Chairman of the Board, during the first board meeting of the year.

She brings extensive expertise to the role. A Chartered Insurer with an ACII qualification from the United Kingdom, Barfour-Awuah also holds dual master’s degrees in Finance and Accounting, and Management from the University of Southampton.

Her appointment to the GETFund Board follows her election as the 12th President of the GIA, an association entitled to representation on the Fund’s governing board.

She succeeds Seth Kobla Aklasi.
