Some supporters of embattled social media influencer and businessman Abu Trica were seen resisting efforts by police officers to remove them from the premises of the Gbese District Court following a ruling by the court.

The court, following its sitting on Friday, March 27, 2026, had ruled that Abu Trica, real name Frederick Kumi, be handed over to the US authorities for extradition proceedings.

The court, however, granted his legal team 15 days to file documents to contest the ruling.

Following the ruling, Abu Trica could be seen being led away in handcuffs.

But videos making waves on social media showed some of Abu Trica’s supporters, who had gathered at the premises, exchanging words with some police officers who were attempting to remove them from the court.

One supporter was arrested and was spotted being led away in cuffs.

An hour later, the crowd finally dispersed.

This comes after the Court dismissed an application filed by Abu Trica’s lawyers, claiming that his arrest and detention were wrong, claiming they were politically motivated.

Abu Trica has been in police custody since December 11, 2025, after he was arrested in a joint operation between the FBI and Ghanaian security agencies.

Abu is facing up to 20 years in prison if he is convicted in the US for his alleged crimes.
