Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has emphasized the country’s commitment to hosting the upcoming African Senior Athletics Championships successfully, stating that preparations are being guided by a strong sense of responsibility.
Speaking ahead of the 24th edition of the continental event, the Minister noted that Ghana is determined to deliver a competition that meets international standards while showcasing the nation’s hospitality and organizational capacity.
“We have approached this responsibility with seriousness and dedication. Hosting Africa’s finest athletes is not just an opportunity, but a duty to the continent,” he stated.
Kofi Adams emphasized the progress being made in preparations, noting efforts in infrastructure development, athlete welfare, and collaboration with key stakeholders. He assured that Ghana is on course to deliver a world-class experience for both participants and spectators.
He further stressed that the event presents an opportunity to boost sports development in Ghana and inspire a new generation of athletes, while also strengthening the country’s position as a reliable host of major international sporting events.
The African Senior Athletics Championships is one of the continent’s premier sporting competitions, and this year’s edition is expected to draw significant attention from across Africa and beyond.
