Prosper Nartey, a communications team member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), clashed with Dr Frederick Ntiamoah, a communications team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), during a heated discussion on Joy Prime’s morning show on March 23, 2026.
The debate centered on Ghana’s persistent “no-bed syndrome” in hospitals, following a viral video showing patients lying on the floor at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
The confrontation began when Prosper Nartey accused Dr Ntiamoah of belittling his knowledge of the issue.
Nartey took offense and retorted that Dr Ntiamoah, being a veterinary doctor, was not qualified to comment on the matter with authority in the ongoing discussion.
“Doc here was trying to cast aspersions at me that if I don’t understand some of these things, I shouldn’t come and sit here,” Nartey said.
“With all due respect, he’s a doctor but he’s a veterinary doctor, not a medical doctor in this field. We are all here to share opinions, so he shouldn’t come here trying to cast aspersions on me,” he fumed.
Dr Ntiamoah fired back, saying, “This guy has an issue with his inferiority complex. You cannot sit here and tell me I am a veterinary doctor.”

However, Nartey fired back again, “Are you not a veterinary doctor.”
At that point, Osei Kofi Acquah, Communications Director of the CPP and another panelist on the show, intervened and questioned Nartey about his own qualifications.
Nartey responded, “I am an SHS dropout.”
