Leicester City winger, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has expressed his delight after being named the Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month winner for February 2026.

The 22-year-old Ghanaian international received the award following a stunning long-range strike against Birmingham City that helped secure a vital victory for the Foxes.

Fatawu beat off competition from Southampton’s Shea Charles, Bristol City’s Max Bird and Coventry City’s Jack Rudoni.

Speaking after receiving the award, he highlighted the personal significance of the recognition.

"I always try to score and give assists, so it is nice when your hard work pays off."

“Everything we do on the pitch is to win, so we need to do better and keep working hard between now and the end of the season to make sure we stay in this league," Abdul Fatawu Issahaku said.

Fatawu has been a standout performer for Leicester this season, despite the club's broader struggles in the Championship.

He has registered nine goals and seven assists across 37 appearances, making him one of the team's most productive attacking assets.

Leicester City currently finds itself in a challenging league position, battling to secure their status in the Championship.

The Foxes are second from bottom with 38 points with eight games to the end of the season.
