The Ghana Armed Forces has held the 47th Guard Changing Ceremony at the Jubilee House, marking the routine rotation of security personnel responsible for protecting the Presidency.

The ceremony, held on Monday, March 16, 2026, forms part of a long-standing security arrangement under which different branches of the armed forces take turns guarding the presidential residence to ensure continuous and comprehensive protection.

Under the rotational system, each military unit assigned to the Jubilee House provides security for a period of three months before handing over duties to another branch of the armed forces.

At the latest ceremony, the Ghana Army officially assumed responsibility for security at the Presidency, taking over from the Ghana Air Force, which had completed its three-month deployment.

The event was attended by the Vice President, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, as well as senior government officials and heads of the country’s security services.

The guard changing ceremony is held every three months and symbolises the continued collaboration among the various branches of the Ghana Armed Forces in safeguarding the Presidency and key national institutions.
