A mother and her daughter, Patricia, are seeking justice after a church elder and his son allegedly leaked nude videos of Patricia online. The incident stems from a failed marriage arrangement between Patricia and the elder’s son.

Speaking on Oyerepa Afutuom, a programme dedicated to resolving domestic issues, Patricia’s mother, Maame Kaya, explained that the elder from Upper Denkyire in the Dominase Breman area of Dunkwa approached her family in 2025 to seek Patricia’s hand in marriage for his son.

At the time, Patricia was only 16 years old and in Senior High School.

Maame Kaya recounted that she agreed to the marriage proposal and Patricia was subsequently transferred from her school in Tema to another school in Dunkwa, where she was cared for by the elder’s family. However, just before Patricia was set to write her WASSCE exams, the elder and his son accused her of cheating and declared that the marriage would no longer take place.

“My daughter was schooling in Tema after she completed her JHS but when they came to ask for her hand in marriage for their son, the elder transferred her from that school to another school in Dunkwa and said he would take care of her. When she was about to write her WASSCE, he called me and said my daughter was cheating in school, so they could no longer marry her. I called my daughter and she denied the allegation,” she said.

However, Patricia denied the allegations.

According to Maame Kaya, Patricia had become part of the elder’s household because of the marriage arrangement. Later, the elder’s son, Fred a 22-year-old illegal miner accused Patricia of infidelity and canceled the marriage.

The family also retrieved all items previously given in preparation for the union. Following this, Patricia’s nude videos were leaked and circulated, allegedly by Fred.

On the programme, Elder Kwame Aboagye with the Christ Apostolic Church in Breman explained that his son had brought Patricia home and as a church leader, he wanted to follow proper procedures for marriage.

Fred, when contacted, claimed Patricia was unfaithful and insisted the videos were recorded by someone else. Patricia, however, maintained that Fred recorded the videos himself and threatened to leak them if she refused to reconcile with him after his father opposed the marriage.

One of the show hosts revealed that Elder Aboagye himself had shared the videos with producers in an attempt to tarnish Patricia’s reputation.

This revelation drew sharp criticism from the panelists. The matter is expected to be resolved in the coming days.
