Present at the inauguration were Dr Nkrumah, then Prime Minister, Kojo Botsio, Ako Adjei, Nana Ayirebi Acquah, Omanhene of the Effutu Traditional Area, Reverend S G Nimako and Sophia Doku from the top CPP hierarchy. With an endowment fund of 2.5 million pounds, granted by the Cocoa Marketing Board which was later increased to 4.75 million pounds the Ghana Education Trust built Secondary Schools throughout the country. Pages 4-5 A History of the University of Cape Coast FORTY YEARS OF RESILIENCE 1962-2002 by D A Dwarko, Kwame O Kwarteng.Please at the inauguration of the Ghana Education Trust which built the Ghana Education Trust Schools throughout the country, Sophia Doku was the only woman among them.Also in May 1951, Dr Nkrumah appointed 4 Women as Propaganda Secretaries to campaign for Ghana 's Independence and they were: Mrs Leticia Quaye, Mrs Hannah Cudjoe, Madam Ama Nkrumah and Sophia Doku. So Sophia Doku was among the 4 Women Propaganda Secretaries that Dr Nkrumah appointed that campaigned and travelled throughout the country enrolling women and men into the CPP and in the women wing of the CPP. Now Sophia Doku, we salute you for donating yourself to serve this country
