Head coach of Bibiani GoldStars FC, Fritz Schmid, has called on supporters to focus on the team’s consistent commitment rather than expecting an automatic successful defence of the league title.

Speaking ahead of their Matchday 25 clash against Young Apostles FC in Wenchi, the Swiss tactician stressed that the most important expectation from the team should be maximum effort in every match.

“The fans should expect that the team always, always in any game give their maximum effort. I think the fans have had the opportunity to see that. That is also why they continue to give us their full support,” Schmid said.

He acknowledged the intense competition at the top of the league table, noting that several clubs are pushing strongly for the title.

“Everybody is trying to push hard, but we also know there are a lot of opponents also chasing for the top position,” he added.

The comments come at a crucial stage of the season as Bibiani GoldStars FC currently sit second on the league table with 45 points, just one point behind leaders Medeama SC.

The Miners head into the weekend in strong form, having recorded four consecutive victories, including an impressive 2–1 win over Accra Hearts of Oak.
