Dr Ayiku added that every meter is independently tested and certified by the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) prior to installation to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
While maintaining confidence in the accuracy and reliability of its meters, ECG acknowledged that some customers may have legitimate billing concerns. The company said it has begun investigating all reported cases, following a directive from the Minister for Energy and Green Transition.
To enhance transparency, ECG has requested the GSA to independently and randomly test meters both in the laboratory and in the field. The results of this independent assessment will form part of a report submitted to the Minister.
ECG reiterated its commitment to accountable and responsive service delivery and appealed to customers for continued cooperation as investigations proceed.
