Afenyo-Markin details Kufuor’s charge to the NPP after two-hour dialogue

Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, has shared some details of a recent conversation he had with former President John Agyekum Kufuor at his residence.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on UTV on Monday, March 2, 2026, he said that the former President Kufuor asked him, together with others, to pray for the New Patriotic Party.

According to him, in a conversation that lasted over two hours, Kufuor told him that members have to turn to prayers to bring togetherness and mend internal cracks in the party.

“Yesternight, I was with President Kufuor. We spoke for about two hours. You could see that the man had a firm grasp on the party’s philosophy. He said, Markin, we have to pray because the party has good intentions,” he said.

The Effutu MP also claimed in the interview that most interventions and initiatives enjoyed by Ghanaians could be traced to the former president.

He mentioned free education as one of the major interventions by former President Kufuor.
