A new poll by Global InfoAnalytics has projected a strong victory for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Baba Jamal, in the upcoming Ayawaso East by-election scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

The survey, conducted from February 28 to March 1, 2026, sampled 972 voters across the constituency.

The results suggest that Baba Jamal has built a commanding lead ahead of election day.

According to the poll, the NDC candidate is projected to secure 75% of the vote, placing him far ahead of his main opponent, Baba Ali of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who is projected to secure 21%.

Umaru Sanda Muhammed, who is contesting as an independent candidate after defecting from the ruling NDC, is expected to secure 3% of the vote.

The remaining candidates, Ibrahim Iddrisu and David, are each projected to receive less than 1%, the poll indicated.

The by-election follows the death of Ayawaso East MP, Mahama Naser Toure, in January while receiving treatment at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

With just days to the by-election, the findings suggest that voters in Ayawaso East may be leaning strongly toward the NDC, although the final outcome will be decided at the ballot box on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
