A surrogate, identified as Judith Kidith Serwaa Ampaafo Appiah, is alleged to have disappeared from the 37 Military Hospital shortly after giving birth, taking the newborn with her despite a signed legal contract.

According to a Facebook post by Crime Check on February 27, 2026, the couple, popularly referred to as "German Burgers", contracted Judith to carry their child through a formal surrogacy process.

In addition to a direct payment of GH¢100,000, the couple reportedly provided Judith with an extensive comfort package during the pregnancy, including a fully funded rented apartment, monthly stipend for feeding and upkeep, a tricycle (Aboboyaa) business to ensure her financial stability post-pregnancy and full coverage of all antenatal and delivery costs.

The situation turned dire following the delivery at the 37 Military Hospital, as Judith allegedly fled the facility instead of handing over the infant as per the legal documents.

When the distraught couple finally managed to reach her via phone, the tone had shifted from cooperation to hostility.
Judith reportedly mocked the couple, asking, "Do you think I am stupid and naive?" before subjecting them to a barrage of insults.

Crime Check spoke directly to the intended mother, who confirmed that the pregnancy was achieved through In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) using her own extracted eggs.

This means that while Judith carried the child, she has no genetic link to the baby.

The sudden "backtracking" has raised questions about whether Judith is being influenced by external parties to extort more money or keep the child for other motives.

Crime Check is currently following the lead, and the couple is calling on the public and the police to help locate Judith to ensure the safe return of their biological child.
