Ghana College, Tamale, Government secondary school, Tamale, Bawku, Yendi, Lawra, Wa, Nalerigu Damongo secondary schools etc.. You are right Kwame Nkrumah was a visionary leader. He did all this in less than 9years.
What a big loss he has been to the nation!!! His compulsory policy of education for all children gave some of us especially from the north the opportunity to go to school. Otherwise my father had no clue about education and didn’t see the need for his children to go to school.

KNUST was called Kumasi College of Science and Technology before independence. Please don't twist facts. Yes Nkrumah established Ghana Educational Trust (GET)secondary schools through out the country as well as factories most of which collapsed even before he was overthrown for lack of raw material. At the time he was overthrown, there was serious shortages of basic items needed to make life reasonably comfortable that was why people jubilated when he was overthrown. Nkrumah himself admitted this shortages and said from Conakry in Guinea that if Ghanaians wanted essential commodities, he would not have built schools and factories. He had good intentions for the country but faltered in many areas and that did not sit well with many Ghanaians

Ghana College, Tamale, Government secondary school, Tamale, Bawku, Yendi, Lawra, Wa, Nalerigu Damongo secondary schools etc.. You are right Kwame Nkrumah was a visionary leader. He did all this in less than 9years.
What a big loss he has been to the nation!!! His compulsory policy of education for all children gave some of us especially from the north the opportunity to go to school. Otherwise my father had no clue about education and didn’t see the need for his children to go to school.

Don't forget Acherensua Secondary School (Achisco) which was the only secondary school in Ahafo until 1970 when Busia converted Hwidiem and Mim Training Colleges to secondary schools. And other schools like Yaa Asantewaah Secondary School, Konongo Odumasi Secondary School, and many more. You can easily identify the schools by the similar buildings, which were constructed under the Education Trust Fund. Nkrumah was selfless, and a visioner. But as a constitutional republic that has worked diligently to strengthen democratic governance, we must ensure that our national symbols reflect our enduring values.
For decades, our main international gateway bore the name of a military figure associated with the 1966 overthrow of our first President, Kwame Nkrumah. That chapter of our history is complex and will continue to be studied and debated. Yet Ghana today stands firmly as a democratic state—one that believes in the sovereignty of the people, the supremacy of the Constitution, and the peaceful transfer of power.
Our airport is the front door to our nation. It is where investors arrive with confidence. It is where members of our diaspora return home with pride. It is where visitors first experience the warmth and stability of Ghana. That gateway must represent unity, not division; continuity, not interruption.
