The government has released first term feeding grants to caterers under the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) for the 2025/2026 academic year across all 16 regions of the country.

The announcement was made in a statement issued on February 6, 2026.

“Government through the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, has paid the first term feeding grants to caterers under the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) in all the 16 regions,” it stated.

According to the GSFP, the first term recorded a total of 74 cooking days, with caterers paid at a rate of GH¢2 per child per school-going day.

“The total number of cooking days for the first term of the 2025/2026 academic year, which began on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, was 74 at the rate of Two Ghana Cedis (GH¢2) per child per every school-going day,” the statement said.

It further noted that the payments cover the first term of the academic year, which started in September 2025.

“The payments were made through the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection and cover the first term of the academic year, which began on Tuesday, September 2, 2025,” it indicated.

It advised caterers who encounter challenges with the disbursement process to seek immediate assistance.

“We urge caterers who have issues with the disbursement to immediately report to their respective Regional Coordinators for prompt redress,” the statement added.

The GSFP also commended both the government and caterers for their roles in the successful implementation of the programme.

“We take this opportunity to commend the government for the timely release of funds and our cherished caterers for their patience and cooperation,” the statement noted.
